"Bosom Buddies" Mini Book & Genuinely Jane Studio's GIVEAWAY and offer!

**Giveaway extended to 10/7/11**

Well, do I have a treat for you today!!  Today I want to share a great project with you that I recently made. My dear friend and fellow blogger Susan has relaunched her blog and business.  Susan is a scrapbooker and mixed media artist who has been on numerous design teams in the scrapbooking industry, including the paper and embellishment manufacturer Moxxie.  She has been published in several on-line and print publications and enjoys teaching altered arts and techniques.  Her boyfriend Mark is a career military man and master cabinetmaker.  He has long been in the woodworking and wood crafts business and counts among his clients AC Moore and Michaels.  Mark is the brains in this collaboration, Susan the creative juice and cheerleader.  They are located in rural North Central Missouri and is owned and managed by Susan and Mark.  Her passion for scrapbooking, altered arts and mixed media coupled with his talent, experience and love for woodworking, including ownership of a custom cabinet business made this a perfect partnership.  All of their mini books are made of  Quality Hardwood Products for Scrapbooking and Altered Arts and more importantly
 MADE IN THE USA!
So onto my project.  I decided to use the square book w/heart cutout.

This is what it starts out like:

And this is what it looks like now:

I used:
K. Andrew Designs "Fashionable Friends" and "Amazing You" stamp sets.

These wooden mini books are great!!  You can finish them however you want.  You can paint them, stain them, crackle paint them, add paper or ink to them.  They can be embossed and stamped.  The possibilities are endless.  Once you have decided what you want as your base, you can then decorate them like any other mini book on the market.  As you can see above, I added papers (Eco Park), tapes, grommets, some bling, Stickles, paper flowers and ribbon, chipboard, I even stamped my favorite sentiments made by K. Andrew Designs on my pages!!

Happy Happy Hump Day!!

Hello to all my crafty friends!!  Hope your having a Happy Happy Hump Day!!  Today I want to show you the quick little card I made this past weekend for my niece for her 8th birthday.  She's a little Tom Boy and loves all the things little boys like!  She had a rock climbing party with all her friends but in the past she has had a reptile party.  There is a company in our area that brings all kinds of reptiles, bugs and snakes!!!  Being that she loves all of those types of things I knew that a card with a snake on it wouldn't bother her at all, as a matter of fact she loved it!!  So here is the "You go Girl" card that I made for her.

This snake is soo cute and I just love how it pop's on the stripped backround!
I used DCWV and Stampin up paper, the Create a Critter Cricut cartridge to cut the snake @ 3", some ribbon and for the sentiment I used my favorite stamps Fashionable Friends by K. Andrew Designs!!

(CLICK ON THE BELOW STAMP SET TO SHOP FOR K. ANDREW STAMPS)

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a Happy Happy Hump Day!!

Until next time, Happy Craftin!!

"Fall Treat's" Simply Sunday Challenge

Well it's Sunday again and you know what that means!!  It's "Simply Sunday" Challenge time again over at Getting Cricky!!  This week's theme is Fall Treat's.  This one stumped me a bit and I was really not sure what I was going to do!!  I was talking to my hubby the other day about the challenge and told him that I did not know what I was going to do and before I knew it he, was thinking out loud and giving me a bunch of idea's!!  He is so cute my man, when I woke up yesterday he had 2 empty baby food containers on the counter, I asked what they were for, how come he didn't throw them out and he told me that he saved them for me for my challenge, he told me that I could turn them into a coffin and have worm's crawling out of it or turn it into a treasure chest with candy in it!!  I just love the way men think!!  He has such a good heart and was really trying to help me.  Anyway, even though he had some really great idea's I did not use the containers and decided to take a simpler route and make a card and a layout.

First is my card: SWEET & FUN

I made this card using the Mini Monsters Cricut Cart.  The Pumpkin is cut at 3 1/2" and his hat is at
3 1/4 ".  I used Stampin up paper, my new Martha Stewart Drippy Goo edge punch, some Halloween paper and ribbon and to finish off the card I used K.Andrew Design Fall-o-ween stamp set.  Kristal donates $1.00 of every stamp set she sell to it's own charity, for the Fall-o-ween set it goes to Adopt a Classroom.  Kristal took a long time to research all the different charities out there and she chose ones that she hold's very dear to her heart.

Now here is the Layout: TRICK OR TREAT!!

For the background I used a paper that I found at Target, the background to the photo frames are from DCWV.  The Cauldron was cut from the Mini Monsters Cricut Cart at 4" and the sentiment again come from K. Andrew Designs Fall-o-ween stamp set.  I wanted to have a little fun so I used my Hubby's idea and added some Gummie worms just to take the photo's!!  Oh yeah, lets not forget the Stickles on the bubbles!!

Please make sure you visit all the wonderful Design Team members to see their wonderful Fall Treat's projects and don't forget to check out all of Kristal Andrew's stamps sets.
I hope you all have a Simply great Sunday.  Thanks for stopping by.
Until next time, Happy Craftin!!

"Batty Halloween" Layout!

Hello to all my Bloggie friends, hope this day finds you well!!  I had a few minutes to be in my crafting room yesterday which gave me the oppertunity to finish a LO that I have been working on!!  Very simple, not too many color's.  I recently went to my local Dollar Store and found a bucket of foam Halloween stickers and thought to myself, "Can I do anything with these that won't look tacky?".  So I sat at my workspace and thought for a little while, went through the container to see what shapes were inside and then decided to use all the Bats and 1 Flying witch, then I cut the fence  from Mini Monsters Cricut cart 2 1/2" and the Tree (can't remember which cart I used).  I also used my Stampin up mister to add the spooky purple sky affect!!

I will eventually add a photo in the black square.
(I have to wait untill Halloween to get an updated photo)

My sentiment is from K. Andrew Designs Fall-o-ween stamp set.

For someone who really is not a big fan of Halloween, I think I did a pretty good job!!

"Link Up Love Party" Fall/Halloween

Hello everyone, hope you are all having a wonderful Tuesday!!  Tuesday??  That's right, it's time for the Link Up Love Party over at Getting Cricky.  The Link up Love Party is a great way to get to know other bloggers and to find new blog inspiration!!  This weeks theme is Fall/Halloween.  I really do like this time of year, the weather starts to change and the kids start getting excited about Halloween.  I'll miss summer but all goods things do come to an end!!  As you know this weeks theme is Fall/Halloween, so I decided to make a Fall card.

The backround images are stamped using Stampin up "Fall Foliage" stamp set and the "Fall" sentiment is stamped using K. Andrew Designs "Fall-o-ween" stamp set.  I embossed the word Fall on the leaf using Barouque Burgandy embosing powder.

I hope I have inspired you to create something Fall related, something you can send a friend just to say "Happy Fall".  So please take a few minutes and visit Kristal at Getting Cricky and Link Up some Love!!

Halloween "Simply Sunday Challenge"

Hello friends, hope you are doing well.  "Kick up Your Heel's"...Today is "Simply Sunday Challenge" day over at Getting Cricky and the theme is Halloween.  I have to tell you, Halloween is not one of my favorite holidays.  I usually just put up a few decorations, I buy candy and watch the kids enjoy the day.  This challenge made me really think, I really had to dig deep, into that deep creative zone!!  But I think I pulled it off.

I used Stampin Up confetti paper for the base of the card along with paper that I had from a Halloween kit for the backround.  I cut the Witch and the broom from Cricut's Mini Monsters cartridge @ 4 1/2" and 3 1/2".  I used Paprika, Lavender and Glam pink Stickles.  For the sentiment I used Kristal's Fashionable Friends stamp set.  Did you know that for every set she sells she donates $1.00 to it's own specific charity.  I know that you can't tell from the picture but I made my own action wobble and the witch actually moves!!

So please stop by Getting Cricky and play along with us in the "Simply Sunday Challenge".
Have a great Sunday and Happy Craftin!!!

She has been published in several on-line and print publications and enjoys teaching altered arts and techniques.  Her boyfriend Mark is a career military man and master cabinetmaker. This is what it starts out as, comes complete with ring:

They come plain and unfinished made from ¼” red oak lumber. All edges are sanded to prevent splintering and splitting.  You then can add any type of finish you desire including paints, stains, crackle finish and ink's. You can emboss them, add stickels, the possibilities are endless!!!

And this is what I did to it:

You can add all kinds of embellishments!

Pictures!

Chipboard, paper!

Gem's!!

Rub-on's!!

You can stamp them!

I used one of my favorite stamp set's by K. Andrew Design's, Amazing You!

Like I said, the possibilities are just absolutely endless!!  I added Eco Park paper to all of my pages first and then inked all the edges.  I added all the photo's, embellishments and stamped sentiments after.

So just for all of my wonderful followers, Susan and I are offering a special.  Stop by  Susan at her blog at  http://www.genuinelyjanestudios.blogspot.com.   Check out her Etsy shop towward the bottom of the blog, or go directly to her Etsy, http://www.etsy.com/shop/genuinelyjanestudios?ref=pr_shop and in the comments section when ordering, use code ILDIROCKSGJS1 to receive 10% off of your total order.
