Coffee Anyone??

Hello all, hope you are all well and to all the people on the East coast, I hope and pray that you all made it through Irene safely and unharmed!!  I am here in New Jersey and even though many of my neighbors were flooded, I thank God that no one was hurt.
Today I have a project made using the new "Word Phrases" project cartridge.  I recently purchased a pack of  patterned papers that is all in the plums and greens family.  I layered a cream colored cardstock with the cut onto a moss colored cardstock, then I placed that ontop of the purple and green patterned paper which I then placed on the  smokey plum backround.  I just love the way this came out and I think I will have it framed for my kitchen!!

So sit back and smell the coffee and enjoy the day!
Happy Craftin to you all!!

"Winged Things" Simply Sunday Challenge

Hello bloggie friends and Happy Sunday to you all!! For those of you on the upper East Coast, I pray that you are all safe and well during this crazy hurricane!! We have battened down the hatches here and are doing well so far!! So onto some fun stuff, I'm not sure how many of you know but I am now a proud and honored part of the Getting Cricky with K. Andrew Design Team...Yayyyyy for me!! Today is the Simply Sunday challenge-"Winged Things"- over at Geting Cricky and Kristal wanted me to let you all know that if you come and play with us She will give away a set of Creative Charms butterflies to one lucky person who comments. Kristal is such a wonderful person, always so uplifting and inspiring to everyone, no matter what the situation!! And if that is not enough, she also has a wonderful-quality line of Clear Polymer Stamps that not only helps us crafters to create beautiful projects but they also help others too!! She donates $1.00 of every stamp set sold to a specific charity-each stamp set has it's own charity!! Come on, that is a very giving person, always thinking about others!! So please, stop by, visit and check out what all the other wonderfully talented DT members have cooked up for the challenge. One lucky winner will receive a $15 Gift
Certificate and a guest design spot at Getting Cricky just for participating in the challenge and don't forget to leave Kristal a comment to try to win the Creative Charms butterflies that she is giving away!!
So as I stated before, todays theme is "Winged Things". I decided to make a card using butterflies from the Paper Pups Cartridge cut at 2 1/2", Kristal's Fashionable Friends stamp set (pictured below), AC , Stampin up and Colorbok cardstock, blue ribbon with light blue Stampin up organza ribbon layered on top and black Stampin up ink.

I cut 6 of the butterfly shapes @ 2 1/2" out of white cardstock and 3 of the patterned paper butterflies at the same size. I layered one of the patterned paper butterflies onto one of the white butterflies, I then folded and bent the wings up and then pop-dotted it to the other white butterfly which then was glued to the front of the card. I attached the light blue ribbon and then the organza ribbon on top of that. Stamped my sentiments onto white cardstock, added some bling and Presto...you have a "Winged Things" card!!!

I just love the way this card came out, the colors are so clean and classy together!! Have a great time over at the challenge and don't forget to let the DT know how great they did!!

Until next time God Bless and Happy Craftin!!!

Back to School Teachers gift!!

My little buggy goes back to pre-school on Sept. 6th, not to the half day schedule that he is used to but to the full day schedule the program has changed to!! I hope that he will adjust to the longer day quickly, he is used to being home by 1:00 pm but now it will be around 3:00 pm!! I know that he will probably not even notice the difference just as long as he see's that he does come home to Mommy. Now as for me and I know that this is going to sound bad but....Yayyy, I will finally have time to get things done!! So I thought to myself, the teacher now has to spend even more time with the kids, she needs to come up with more activities to keep them busy.  So what better to use to organize all this info but a custom covered composition book with pencil holder!! I'm not sure if you all remember but at the end of the school year this past June, I made her a flower pot filled with pencils.  (CLICK HERE TO SEE ORIGINAL POST)   So I ran with it and I used the same patterned paper to cover the composition book.  Now she has a matching set!!

I used red and white card stock from Stampin Up and the Owl themed paper by American Crafts.  I had yellow ribbon in my stash and of course for my sentiments I used my "Amazing You" stamp set from K. Andrew of Getting Cricky and for the teachers name I used a Martha Stewart Alphabet set.

I hope you all have a smooth transition back to school and to all the Mom's, take a breath and relax!!

Until next time, Happy Craftin!!

"You are Beautiful"-Martha Stewart "Stamp around the Page"

Hello bloggie friends, hope you are all doing well.  We have had rain for the last 3 days so what better to do than craft!!!  I actually was able to make a few videos and quite a few new grundge bracelets-my new obssesion!!  So today I have a video for you demonstrating the Martha Stewart "Stamp around the Page" tool.  I was watching HSN one day a few weeks ago and they were having a Craft Hour and they were featuring Martha Stewart crafting supplies.  I was very intregued by this tool and thought to myself  "I need this"...so I bought it!!!  It works on the same basic principle as the "Punch around the Page".  I want to appologize in advance for the legnth of the video but because there is alot of explaining to do on how to use the tool so it was necessary.

I hope you could understand what I was trying to explain, I know that the video was a little choppy in parts but I had to edit down alot of it to make it upload to YouTube!!
I will be back tomorrow with another video so unti then have a great day and Happy Craftin!!

Grundge Bracelets.

Well as promised, today I have such a great project to share with you.  I was blog hopping the other night after a very long day and came accross a post on Splitcoaststampers showing how to make bracelets out of Grundgeboard by Tim Holtz.  I thought to myself  "Wow these are great"!!  I did a little more research, watched quite a few videos on YouTube and then tried my hand at making some.  This is what I came up with for now but I plan on making tons of these!!  The possibilities are endless.  I'm already planning on giving some as Christmas gifts.

I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the strips that I cut out of the Grundgeboard sheets at 1 1/4".  You can get 4 strips out of each sheet.

I then rounded the one end using my corner chomper.  I used acrylic paint to add color and some ink for the edges and on the tops to give them an aged look.

I then added the gommets to one and glued the Bee charm to the other using E6000 adhesive.  I also added the Hitch fastener at this time.

So what do you think, not bad for my first one's.  I really love the way they came out and can't wait to wear them.  I have entered this project in Robyn's Pinkalicious Blog Hop over at "My Pink Stamper".
I hope you enjoyed my bracelets, I know I will!!
Until next time Happy Craftin!!

Hello Friend Card

Hello Friends...lol...funny that's the name of this post!!!  Today I have a card that I made during my crafting marathon the other day!!  I recently purchased a Martha Stewart "Punch around the Page" punch that once you have punched around the page it leaves you with this beautiful floral strip!!  I wanted to use it in one of my cards so this is what I came up with!!

I just love these colors.  I used Kristals stamps for the sentiment and the flower stamp is an oldie but goodie from Stampin Up!!  The paper is just scraps I had laying around.
I submitted this card for the "Getting Cricky with K. Andrew" DT Call and in the "Made it Myself Mondays Challenge"

Thanks for stopping by!!  Until next time Happy Craftin!!

Hello Monday-Mosaic Card!!

Good afternoon to all my bloggie friends, hope you are all well!!  Well as promised yesterday, today I am posting a card that I made during my craftin marathon yesterday!!  I call it the Mosaic Card because every little square has a different color or patterned paper in it.  I created the black frame with the little squares on my Gypsy.  The squares are all 1" x 1" and the total outside dimension of the frame is about 6" high by 5 1/2" wide.  This is great when you can't decide what paper to use or even to just use up all those little scraps we all have laying around!!  I have a large photo keeper for all my large scraps and two small photo keepers that hold real small scraps and unused shapes.  I hate to throw any of the leftover papers out, hence my husband thinks I'm crazy!!  I put Mono adhesive on the back of the frame and just attached all the little squares to it, then I stamped the little heart, spiral and star with coordinating ink colors. (the red, yellow and blue squares)  Anyway I hope you enjoy!!

I submitted this card for the Getting Cricky DT Call, please wish me luck!!  Also in the "Made it Myself Mondays Challenge"  Until next time Happy Craftin!!
