Hello Blogger friends!! I am so EXCITED and honored to be the Guest Blogger for Kristal Andrew at Getting Cricky with K. Andrew today!! She is such an inspiration to me and to sooooo many others!!!

I purchased the foam core poster board at the Dollar Tree, the fabric was purchased at Wal-Mart, the fiber fill I already had as well as the ribbon. The pink flat backed marbles were purchased at Michaels Crafts. I think the whole project cost me about $5.00!!! I hope you enjoy the video and please do stop by and see me over at her blog!! Have a Wonderful and Blessed Day!!

I want to thank Kristal for having me today!! I know that I have a friend in her!!  Until next time friends Happy Craftin!!

Happy Sunday!!

What a beautiful day!!  I hope you are all enjoying the begining of Summer!!  The weather is great and the sound of kid's playing is all over the neighborhood!!  I just wanted to take a minute to post a little project I finally finished!!  It is a small round chipboard memory book of my family.

I haven't really made a lot of these so it took me a little while!!  The scalloped edges were a bit dificult to finish!!  Once I had that part done the rest came easy!!

Until next time Happy Craftin!!

8th Grade Semi Formal

Well today I am going to talk a little about my daughter.  I can vividly remember the day that my wonderful daughter was born!!  She was the cutest baby in the world!!  No really, she was the cutest ever!!  She was the kind of  baby that would just sit and look pretty all day long, she would only cry if she was soiled or hungry!!!  She was walking by 10 months, talking non stop by 1, she really was the easiest baby to be blessed with!!  As she became older she became very independant and very much a little tom boy!!  She does very well in school, loves to craft and helps everyone as much as she can.    She LOVES her little brother and treats him like her own.  She is very big help to me and I am proud to be her mother!!  It's hard for me to believe that 14 1/2 years have pasted and she is now moving up into the high school!!  Yikes...I'm not sure that I am ready for this!!  So I wanted to make something for her to have so she could remember this last year before she moves onto high school.  My daughter has a very small group of friends that she "hangs out with" but there is only one that she considers her best friend.  Lia is a wonderful girl, I never have any problems with her.  I would and do consider her as one of mine!!  I am glad she has someone that she can create and share memories with!  Here is the layout that I made for her and her bestie to remember their 8th grade Semi Formal.

Lia's on the left and my daughter Tea is on the right.

This backround paper is shimmer and so classy.

I found embelishments that sparkle too!!

XOXO because I love them!!

I hope you have enjoyed the story of my little girl.  I know that there will be more to come in here futre but until then Happy Craftin!!

Teachers Gift "Flower Pot"

Hello, hope your weekend was great!!  I have been very busy with the end of the school coming soon!!!  My kids will be done this Thursday for the summer and we have just been going a little crazy with all the end of the year stuff!!!  Even though I have not forgotten my bloggy friends!!  I want to show you all the Flower Pot I made for my son's teacher.  He is in Pre-school so I thought this would be nice for his teacher to keep on her desk.  My older two kids just have toooo many teachers so chose to only make this for my little guy's teacher.  I used Karlee's, from KarleeKrafts, idea but tweeked it a bit to make it functional.  Click here to see her post.  I just think it is the cutest idea for any occasion!!!

I have entered this into the "Made it Myself Mondays" link up over at You Had me at Craft.  So head on over by clicking on the blinkie on the right side of this blog, link up and enter to win!!  Good Luck!!

Now for my project, I started with the paper, I used 1 sheet of American Crafts Owl paper and 1 sheet of a coordinating mauve color.  These papers were more like cardstock and a bit thick, but I loved the Owl's sooo much I worked the paper so it would stay down.  Next time I think I will try to find a thinner paper!!!  I cut them into 3 1/4" and 2 1/4" squares.

Then I cut flowers out of both sheets using my Cuttlebug and the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals Die.  Once they were cut I embossed the mauve ones with the "Mesh" Cuttlebug folder.

Once the flowers were cut I punched a hole in the middle of all the flowers so I could put them on the sharpened pencils, this was a bit difficult because the largest hole on my Big Bite was just a little too small, but with a little patience you can work the flowers onto the pencils!!  I then added some pink Stickles to the insides of the solid colored flowers.

I then took all the 31/4 squares and Mod Podged them to the flower pot.  Be sure to cut some slits on the top and bottom of the squares so that you can easily roll them to fit under the rim of the pot.

I added floral foam to the inside of the pot and some Easter fluff (in yellow) to cover the foam.  Pushed the pencils into the foam, added a tag and Teachers name and Presto...Pencil Flower Pot!!!

I just really love the idea of this project!!  It took a little while to cut the flowers and the squares but once you have done that part the rest is cake!!
I hope you all have a smooth transition at the end of this school year and that your summer is full of fun and crafts!!
I would love to see what you all have made for the teachers in your life so please send me pic's of your teachers gifts, I really love learning of new things to make!!

Until next time Happy Craftin!!

Paper Layerz!!!???

Hello friends!!  Today I want to let you all kow that a friend of mine, Megan Gravener of Above Rubies Studio, has come out with her own line of paper for crafting and Die Cutting machines!!!
Paper Layerz is a unique scrapbook paper specifically designed to make coordinating and layering your die-cut images faster, cheaper and easier! Cut out all the layers of an image from your Cricut, Sizzix, eCraft or any die-cutting machine from ONE sheet!  Finally all you have to do is just place one 12x12 sheet on your mat and cut away!!  It is really very clever!!

Thanks for being such wonderful blogging friends!!
Happy Craftin!
